Claude Dashboards and Motion Launch in Public Beta

Anthropic launched Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion in beta, bringing live database connections and code-driven video explainers to Artifacts.

Anthropic adds live database connections and programmatic video explainers to Artifacts, while opening Docs, Slides, and Design to free accounts.

Anthropic rolled out public betas for Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion on Thursday, October 8. The two additions extend the Claude workspace into reporting workflows: Dashboards connects chat prompts directly to cloud warehouses and CRMs, while Motion renders explainer videos from structured metrics and text files. Alongside the release, Anthropic graduated Claude Docs, Claude Slides, and Claude Design out of testing, giving free tier accounts access to the full collaboration toolkit. The update was confirmed across product release notes and official support pages.

Claude Dashboards brings inspectable queries to live data

Claude Dashboards hooks directly into data infrastructure including Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, and ClickHouse, alongside Salesforce for CRM tracking. Instead of manually pasting CSV exports or running queries in separate tabs, teams describe the metrics they need in conversation. The system queries the connected warehouse and returns charts that update when records shift on the backend.

Rather than hiding its data gathering inside a black box, the interface surfaces the exact SQL query or transform script beneath every visual card. That allows data engineers to inspect join logic and aggregation rules directly before anyone takes numbers into an executive review. Teams can export generated dashboards into dedicated analytics stacks like Mixpanel, Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, PostHog, and Sigma, with support for Tableau and Looker scheduled in upcoming releases.

Programmatic motion replaces generative diffusion

Claude Motion avoids diffusion-based video pipelines entirely. Video diffusion models frequently blur labels, twist numeric tables, or hallucinate spurious typography. Instead, Motion writes execution code to render vector shapes, layouts, and typography frame by frame.

Because the animation relies on code rather than pixel interpolation, the resulting MP4 files stay small and keep text sharp. Users can tweak copy, color palettes, and pacing through quick text prompts without re-generating a clip from scratch. These videos can also be passed into external production tools such as Canva and Adobe suites, or pushed to video platforms like Runway and Luma AI.

Tier availability and free suite access

Access to both beta features splits across account tiers. Claude Dashboards is available to Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers. On Enterprise plans, the integration arrives disabled by default and requires an account administrator to switch it on manually.

Claude Motion has a narrower footprint: it is open only to Team and Enterprise plans, and also defaults to off in enterprise organizations. Anthropic has not published a timeline for bringing Motion to individual Pro or Max plans.

At the same time, users on the free tier get full access to tools that previously sat behind test flags. Claude Docs, Slides, and Design are now generally available across all accounts, including collaborative multi-user editing.
