Perplexity Computer Adds Live Polymarket Data
Perplexity Computer now pulls real-time Polymarket odds, volume, and liquidity across 250,000 prediction markets without executing bets.
The agent environment can pull implied odds, volume, and liquidity across 250,000 prediction markets via prompt, but cannot place trades.
Perplexity AI rolled out native data integration with Polymarket for Perplexity Computer on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. The update allows the autonomous agent environment to pull real-time prediction market odds, trading volume, and liquidity figures directly into research and analysis workflows. The rollout was announced on X by Perplexity co-founder and chief executive Aravind Srinivas, with technical details shared by product account Perplexity Finance.
The feature changes how the system handles probability data. Rather than relying solely on static articles or subjective commentary, the agent pulls figures shaped by traders putting capital behind expected outcomes in politics, economics, and technology.
How Perplexity Computer taps the API
Accessing the data does not require specialized setup. To bring market figures into a session, users simply mention the platform or add the @Polymarket tag inside their prompt. That command directs Perplexity Computer to connect to Polymarket’s application programming interface (API) and retrieve current data points.
According to Perplexity Finance, the connection covers more than 250,000 active prediction markets listed on the platform. In practice, that shifts how the agent builds its research summaries. When creating briefing memos or risk assessments, the model combines qualitative context with quantitative market odds. During an election campaign or a regulatory review, the agent can cross-reference news reports with implied probabilities from the order book, offering a clearer view of what participants anticipate.
Expanding a partnership started in 2024
The technical collaboration between Perplexity and Polymarket began in August 2024. That initial arrangement ran in two directions: Polymarket adopted Perplexity’s search API to display news summaries on its betting pages, while Perplexity began showing interactive prediction market cards within its search results during major election cycles, as documented by TechCrunch.
The 2026 release takes that relationship into agent workflows. Perplexity built Perplexity Computer as an orchestration hub for digital knowledge work, connecting multiple third-party services. The platform already pulls data from SEC filings, FactSet market feeds, Coinbase cryptocurrency records, and tools linked through the open Model Context Protocol (MCP). Adding Polymarket addresses an important gap in that lineup: rather than searching only for events that have already been documented, the agent can query what financial markets expect to happen next.
Read-only queries and operational limits
Perplexity placed strict guardrails on the new functionality. The integration operates exclusively in read mode. While the autonomous agent can retrieve pricing curves, trading volume, and liquidity records to generate detailed reports, it cannot execute financial transactions. It cannot buy or sell outcome shares, open contracts, transfer funds, or manage betting portfolios on a user’s behalf.
Several commercial questions also remain unanswered. The claim of 250,000 active markets is self-reported by Perplexity without independent verification. The company has not clarified whether frequent API calls will incur usage fees, nor has it explained whether free accounts will receive access or if the integration will remain exclusive to paid tiers like Pro, Max, and Enterprise.
